The Free Clinic of Danville is dedicated to the belief that everyone should have access to health care services. Our mission is to provide primary medical care to U.S. Citizens of Danville and Pittsylvania County who do not have the resources .
Vision
Quality of life in the Danville region is enhanced by all members of the Danville regional community accepting responsibility for the health of the community. The DFC will be a meeting ground for dedicated, generous caregivers/healthcare professionals committed to community service and proactive, educated patients committed to becoming responsible for their own health and healthcare.

The Free Clinic of Danville will provide holistic based comprehensive medical care, with a focus on education and wellness, to qualified uninsured individuals in the Danville Regional Area.

History
The Free Clinic of Danville was established in July of 1993 as an outreach ministry of the city’s Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. Begun in a former library of the church that was converted into medical space, on its first night the Clinic saw seven patients attended by Dr. Bill Hickson.
The Clinic quickly outgrew its space in the Episcopal church and moved to larger facilities across the years before settling in its current location, a former bank building on Danville’s Ridge Street.
Over time the Clinic has grown both in its physical size and in the scope of its services. Today the Free Clinic of Danville employs a full-time executive director, a full-time clinical director, and a full-time nurse practitioner. Operating five days per week in addition to a Tuesday evening clinic, preventive and routine care for the area’s underserved residents remains at the core of the Clinic’s mission.
Thanks to the generosity of the many individuals, faith and civic groups, local businesses and foundations, the Free Clinic of Danville is a vital component of the city’s life.
